Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer
Volunteers at ROCK Ontario Early Years play a critical role in making a difference. Whether they are serving on the Board or committees, providing administrative support in the office, or lending their expertise to projects, our volunteers assist in providing quality programs and services to families.

On behalf of our staff and the families who benefit from their efforts, we would like to thank all of our hard-working volunteers for their commitment, time and energy and a warm welcome to our new volunteers.

Fall Fair Volunteers
The ROCK Ontario Early Years Fall Fair is in need of interested and energetic people to help plan this exciting event. Our goal is to provide a fun filled day for the whole family. Volunteer to be part of the organizing committee or to help out on October 25, 2008 for the day of the fair. If you are interested in helping out with our Fall Fair, please contact Kristi at 905-632-4011 or email oeychelp@rockonline.ca.

Children’s Program Assistant
We are currently looking for volunteers to work in our children’s programs. Our program assistants help to supervise and interact with infants, toddlers and pre-school children and their parents/caregivers, promote healthy and appropriate interactions between children and adults, and assist in planning and carrying out fun and safe games, crafts, activities, and songs for children and their parents/caregivers. If you have a particular skill to share, or if you are interested in working with children and families in the Burlington Community then this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. A variety of programs and times are available to meet your interests and busy schedule. Any interested candidates must submit a current police check, and three references to volunteer in this position.

Administrative Assistant
A volunteer is needed to assist our administration staff with registration, data entry and other office duties. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher or Access) is beneficial. Any interested candidates must submit a current police check, and three references to volunteer in this position. The time commitment is two to three hours a week during regular office hours.

Junior Volunteer
Are you a high school student interested in completing your volunteer hours? The Burlington Family Resource Centre has short term volunteer opportunities for you. Providing assistance with the preparation of arts and craft activities, bulletin board displays or room decoration, assisting with data entry, and helping out on special event days are just a few examples.

For more information about our volunteer program, please contact our Outreach Coordinator at 905-632-4011.
